vanB Korea Artistic Association announces the creation of a new, additional conducting educational program called Artistic Internship in Conducting. It is intended for all interested people who have completed at least music high school.

The new program of Academy of Art in Sczecin (Poland) lasts six months and includes 30 conducting lessons (lesson lasts 45 minutes). It ends with an exam, on the basis of which participants are issued a certificate of participation and completion of the course by the Academy of Art in Szczecin.

Those who want to learn the basics of conducting technique and other aspects of a conductor's work, as well as those who want to deepen their knowledge in this area, are invited to sign up for classes in the spring semester, starting from February 2025.

Here are 10 things you should know about conducting in music that you can learn in this course:

1. Communication is key: conductors communicate with musicians using body language, gestures and facial expressions;

2. It's not just about waving your hands: conducting requires precise movements that reflect tempo, dynamics and articulation;

3. Leadership skills are essential: conductors must inspire and motivate musicians to perform at their best;

4. Musical knowledge is key: conductors need in-depth knowledge of music theory, history and interpretation;

5. Thoughtful rehearsals are essential: conductors work properly with the ensemble during rehearsals to obtain the best possible result of the concert performance;

6. Interpretation is subjective: conductors bring their unique perspective on the work, shaping its interpretation;

7. Conductors are responsible for the narration of the performed piece: they control the tempo and its agogic course;

8. Non-verbal signals are important: conductors use gestures, eye contact and facial expressions to give instructions to musicians;

9. Conducting is physically demanding: it requires endurance, flexibility and coordination;

10. Conductors inspire and educate: they share their passion for music with both musicians and the audience.
